BIRDHOUSE FOR MIGRANT GARDEN EXHIBITION BY NIETO SOBEJANO

19.06.2015

I
Material
A thin plastic sheet - white, neutral, without references- is transformed, by a series of precise cuts and folds, into a singular shell; a single element capable of generating light, space and structure.
II
Process
BirdHouse emerges from a process of combinatorial variations based in an hexagonal geometry: symmetry, rotation, cut and extrusion. A modular base element is manipulated to transform the primitive volume, generating expansions of the shell that become access points, light openings and small shelter spaces.
III
Space
The ‘house’ configures an ever-changing  place: a shelter, strategically drilled, that is transformed by sunlight. A singular dwelling in the forest for nesting, resting or getting shelter.
